Light Layers: the interplay of transparencies moves downward
Amid lace, organza and embroidery, lightness becomes a style code
Lightness moves downward. This season it is skirts and trousers that become weightless, telling a new way of interpreting femininity: carefully planned transparencies, light layers, and couture details transform the bottom from a simple functional garment into the protagonist of impactful outfits. Dolce & Gabbana interprets the trend in a sensual and precise key: skirts such as the tulle sheer midi skirt or the semi-sheer lace midi skirt in black play with skin and volumes, enhancing the contour lines with a touch of couture. Saint Laurent brings tulle into a minimal-rock dimension with chiffon skirts, where lightness is tempered by a gritty, metropolitan attitude. Prada reinvents transparency with a more refined language: crystal-studded tulle, scintillating chiffons or floral embroidery emerge in its skirts, giving lightness a couture tone. Miu Miu steps in from a more decorative angle with its golden beaded silk miniskirt, where silk and crystals create a bottom that is almost a piece of jewellery to wear. Simone Rocha embodies the most poetic side of the trend: organza and tulle skirts with three-dimensional floral patterns and ruffles that tell a story of romantic, layered femininity. And Ann Demeulemeester, whose dark and refined aesthetic brings a more intense version of lightness: perforated fabrics construct a sartorial transparency that is precise, never fragile.
