The softness of leather for men
For autumn, leathers like fabrics and a lot of colors
Soft, colorful, and perhaps glossy. Leather returns as a key element in men’s wardrobes for autumn 2024, but avoids a rocker effect through the choice of soft leathers and tailored lines. Designers seem to challenge themselves to transform this material into fabric: Bottega Veneta offers pale pink woven leather trousers and five-pocket denim-colored pants that are so soft and light they resemble real jeans, while Bally opts for black calfskin that ‘falls’ like velvet for their high-waisted, wide-leg trousers.Ferragamo turns lambskin into silk for its olive-green shirt with a pointed flat collar and chest pocket. Color and gloss are the rewards for those daring to wear vinyl: the white vinyl jacket by Courrèges and the lemon yellow one by Rick Owens are perfect examples.
