Shine “Slowly”
Sequins, satin and metallic details for a winter that lights up every evening — right up to the last of the year. December is a crescendo of luminous style
Between late November and the first lights of December, the desire to dress shifts rhythm. It is not yet celebration, but something already sparkles. You can feel it in the air, in the shortening afternoons, in that sudden craving for light that appears when the city begins to glow. No special invitation is needed: just one piece that hints at the festivities — a satin top hidden under a coat, a knitted piece with a thread of lurex, a blazer that catches the artificial light. The first reflections are subtle: Peserico and Forte Forte draw light on the skin, between micro-sequins and metallic yarns. Then the desire grows, and femininity becomes more self-aware: Coperni and Miu Miu play with the fluidity of satin fabrics, while Versace and Gucci make it decisive, sculptural, with skirts and blazers that seem made for a night still far away. As December moves forward, the light stops being shy. Prada turns it into sensual minimalism with the sequinned slip dress; Tom Ford wraps it in a blue coat that shines like electric velvet; Alex Perry gathers it into a sharp, luminous cut, as if it were a spotlight. Then comes the last night. Dolce & Gabbana stages the most theatrical femininity — tinsel, feathers, gold and sheerness. Costarellos makes it liquid and sensual, Balenciaga sculpts it in velvet, Jimmy Choo completes it with a step of light. The woman of Shine (slowly) does not wait for the celebration: she builds it day after day, until she truly sparkles — when everything around her, finally, resembles her.
