Deep blue takes centre stage, even when paired with white
Surprisingly, in a season that usually leaves the sea behind, Navy style asserts its natural elegance in a triumph of deep blue. Details matter more than ever: double-breasted fastening, golden and brass buttons, and pairings with white, even in the classic striped version offered by Brunello Cucinelli. The caban jacket is a must, a classic for Toteme and also for Prada, complete with a martingale and golden buttons. Max Mara infuses its blazer with nautical influences: double-breasted, with a shawl collar and a well-defined waist, while Vivienne Westwood plays with irony and presents the ‘drunken sailor’ blazer with an asymmetrical buttoning. Underneath, nothing beats a jumper, like the generously sized one by Jil Sander or the super-classic ribbed one by Paul Smith.
