Seasonal knitwear: warm, chic and in the spotlight
There is a new object of desire for winter 2025: knitwear — the undisputed star of a season that calls for warmth but also character. Some of the latest trends are coordinated knit-on-knit sets, layering games, maxi cardigans worn as coats, and fine turtlenecks disappearing beneath masculine blazers. Runways have confirmed it: Prada makes knitwear a central element — from the camel cashmere mini-dress to the waist-belted midi-dress crafted from mouliné wool, up to the mini-version in the same brown yarn. Three lengths, one mood: knitwear that envelops, shapes and seduces. Loro Piana rediscovers the art of cashmere in butter and cocoa tones, while Gucci transforms knitwear into an elegant ensemble — cardigan, top and fine-rib trousers that reinterpret the concept of tailleur by replacing the rigidity of a jacket with the fluidity of tricot. Lemaire sees it as a second skin: from the Trompe l’Œil wool-blend midi-dress — where the visual play of the weave becomes a silent design — to the Turtleneck wool-blend midi-dress, linear and enveloping. The Row treats it as almost monastic, in neutral hues and suspended cuts, while Alaïa, with her sculpted ruffles, turns wool into sculpture. Brunello Cucinelli closes the circle, elevating it to a statement of natural femininity, made of powdery shades and yarns that seem to emit light.
