Chromatic Clash
Unexpected color pairings transform the wardrobe into a sophisticated palette
Color returns as the main star in Spring-Summer 2026, but in a more refined and constructed version. No longer simple touches, but well-thought-out color combinations: from bright green paired with brown to bolder contrasts between purple and red, through to more luminous palettes playing with orange, pink and blue. Monochromatic outfits, statement skirts and tailored-cut blazers combine with each other, creating pairings that turn color into a statement of style. The most sophisticated tones emerge in natural contrasts: brown and green, as seen in Saint Laurent’s collection, where caramel-colored tops and army green blouses build an elegant and contemporary palette. The same chromatic dialogue can be found in the silhouettes of Prada, where brown shirts, bright green and yellow jackets, light green skirts give life to unexpected and perfectly balanced combinations, a distinctive feature of the SS26 collections. The contrast becomes more defined when color becomes the absolute protagonist. The intense orange of the dress by Dries Van Noten introduces a more vibrant palette, while the saturated pink of MSGM blazers adds a more pop and immediate dimension. Alongside these combinations, Versace collections show an even more complex approach: purple is paired with red, while green meets red and light blue , creating contrasts that are never random but constructed as true styling exercises. The result is a style in which color is no longer a decorative element, but the starting point of the look. Palettes are composed and decomposed, alternating bright tones and softer combinations, in a balance that makes every outfit visually dynamic.
