Rick Owens was born in Porterville, USA, in 1962. He studied art at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and launched his eponymous brand in 1994. Sponsored by Anne Wintour and Vogue America, he presented his first collection in 2002 on the catwalks
of the New York Fashion Week. Success was so huge that just a few weeks later he moved to Paris appointed as the artistic director of Revillon, the French fur company. Rick Owens
style is characterized by references to the Japanese school of Yohji Yamamoto and Issey
Miyake.
