"For at least a couple of seasons now, the fascination of handmade garments, which are the result of meticulous care for an increasingly precious craftsmanship, has been pouring out of the catwalks and into the outfits of fashionistas. Knitwear is not only one of the hottest trends but it has also clearly contributed to the revival of a style that seemed to be absolutely outdated, by filling it with glamour. Alanui has become one of the iconic brands of crochet style, especially with the colourful crocheted squares, like those in grandma's blankets, called Granny Squares. They are also used in the knitted cardigans, in a style between gypsy and country, with shawl collars and waist belts. Missoni, which has always been a maison that experiments with knitwear, has immediately ridden the wave, and for next season offers jersey sheath dresses with different stripes, crafted in colours and from types of yarns that perfectly contour the body. GCDS prefers the 'aged’ effect: the cable-knit jumpers look 'worn', featuring loose threads as if deteriorated. But as always, it is an intentional distressed look. "
