Graphics, floral, figurative... Trendy!
Prints are in for the men’s wardrobe
Minimalism is out: whether quiet luxury has run its course, or it is the arrival of summer that brings a craving for boldness and joy, one thing is certain—designers have captured a mood and turned it into style. As late spring arrives, men break free from restraint and embrace a touch of excess, and what better way to express this desire for freedom than with prints? And so graphic patterns, floral prints and—why not—monogram fabrics triumph, with Gucci and Fendi leading the way. Petals and leaves bloom on the Maison Margiela shirt, oversized flowers burst open at Valentino, who also experiments with black and white for a more graphic take. Gucci opts for black and anthracite silk in its jungle-style shirt, while sketching silhouettes of bowling players in electric purple for those who love bold contrasts. Amiri illustrates entire landscapes to evoke jazz-inspired atmospheres, while Jacquemus stylises palm branches into a graphic pattern. Of course, it is not just about shirts: Dries Van Noten celebrates silk Bermuda shorts with large flowers, while Marni introduces denim with a ‘scribbled’ effect and revisited animal-print Bermuda shorts.
