Denim skirts
All the autumn 2020 models: long, flared, mini or pleated
A basic and hyper-practical garment makes its comeback to the women's wardrobe this autumn, to be combined in the most varied ways without taking any risks. Designers have freely played with denim: they washed it out, bleached it and cut it, and they also added peplums and ruffles. The skirts by Miu Miu come in midi and longuette versions but with a ‘paperbag’ waist that creates an unusual ruche effect above the hips. The midi and flared model by Saint Laurent, inspired in the '70s, features a patchwork in different shades of blue and snap-on buttons. See By Chloe chooses a lighter fabric to create pleated models below the knee and mini models with ruffles on the bottom, to be combined with light silk blouses, or for a contrasting touch, with masculine-inspired shirts. Balmain remains faithful to his charming style with a high-waisted, sleek line that sculpts the hips, plus two rows of the now iconic metal buttons embellishing the sides. Givenchy demonstrates that being chic can be also applied to the philosophy of recycling, through an abundance of tears and rips.
