Large, small, 100% sustainable: Spring demands natural materials
The quintessential accessory goes to the extremes: the Spring trend wants either a micro or a markedly maxi bag. And while several brands look into the past as a source of inspiration- such as Gucci and its Horsebit 1955, the reinterpretation of a model that has lost none of its charm, plus Bottega Veneta and its iconic «intrecciato» of a mini Jodie Bag crafted in a beautiful turquoise blue -, other brands decidedly point at the future bringing sustainability to the fore. This is what Prada does by choosing raffia for their bright red bags. And THEMOIRè, the all-round eco brand, does too by using cloths and recycled plastic for its Irida Tote Bag. Led by the motto «a better world is possible», the creations of Colombia-born designer Ricardo Ballen that aim at emphasising the value of the ethical practices and craftsmanship of his country of origin.
