Matthew McConaughey's Carhartt jacket and Timothée Chalamet's camouflage cargo pants have set the trend, and designers have embarked on a summer rediscovery of workwear garments: on the spring-summer catwalks, workwear has been among the stars, with short and long cargo pants interpreted by Y-3 using different types of materials, technical fabric shirts, and multi-pocket vests, all designed to combine comfort and style. Working-class-inspired as usual, Carhartt, plus Alyx and Engineered Garments make their presence felt by expanding the boundaries to safari jackets for a style that focuses directly on the equatorial look. More tailored, but no less bold, are the proposals by Prada, which are a nod to sustainability by using materials such as recycled nylon.
